TIGI Rockaholic Livin’ the Dream Tour Hits SXSW 2010

March 22, 2010

It’s raining, the air is cold, and outside the bus windows the highway is littered with dead winter trees. One thing’s for sure, we’re not in Austin anymore.  Farewell sun, killer music, friends and all the excitement that was SXSW, and hello memories. In two days the TIGI Rockaholic-Bed Head tour bus will be in the always entertaining and wonderful Chicago! Until then there is time to recap and share all the good times had at SXSW 2010.

The TIGI bus rolled into Spin magazines 25th anniversary party at Stubb’s early Friday morning. If you don’t know already, the TIGI bus is the coolest salon on wheels in the world. It is fully equipped with 3 cutting/styling stations, one wash bowl, 7 flat screen TVs, Guitar Hero, a Joan Jett signed Gibson, plenty of front row seating and a Bugera 120 watt high gain dual reverb valve amplifier for artists to rock out on while waiting for their turn in the chair. The magic started around 11am with visits from Rogue Wave, Foxy Shazam, Free Energy, Audible Mainframe, and the Incredible Hulk.

Saturday the TIGI Livin’ the Dream Tour linked up with AP magazine for yet another day of rock n roll on the bus. Visits on Saturday included awesome bands such as Laurel Collective, Hey Monday, Every Avenue, Summerset and the legendary Michael Monroe of Hanoi Rocks. Most left with new dos and TIGI product to rock their hair  for days to come. Needless to say, shiny happy people were holding hands on their way out of the TIGI bus.

That just about wraps up our two fun filled days in Austin. It’s obvious there was a party on the bus this past weekend and now it’s time to clean up. Check out the TIGI Rockaholic facebook page for more pictures and updates. Find out where the TIGI bus will be next if you want in on the party by following us on Twitter. See you in Chicago!
